Latest appointments: New chairman for Leeds Restaurant Association, Senior appointment at Hempsons and more

LEEDS Restaurant Association has appointed a new chairman.

Ian Goldman took up the position last month following the departure of former chairman, Bill Graham.

Mr Goldman retired from his position as managing partner at Godloves in Leeds over a year a year ago and is a non-executive director for Casa Mia restaurants and has spent the past seven years as vice chairman of Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

The association, formed in 2005, aims to recognise the best in Leeds’ restaurant industry and will work alongside Marketing Leeds to help promote the city as a ‘gastro-city’.

Deborah Green, chief executive of Marketing Leeds said; “We have a long-standing relationship with Leeds Restaurant Association in promoting the fabulous restaurants we have in our city.

“For example our city food festival, Leeds Loves Food, of which the Restaurant Association were partners, was a great success. I am very much looking forward to working with Ian and his team to support the city’s food scene and showcase all that Leeds has to offer.”

HARROGATE law firm, Hempsons, has appointed a new partner to its employment team.

Andrew Davidson joins the firm from Kimbells and has experience working for the NHS, local authority and private sector clients.

Jean Sapeta of Hempsons’ employment practice says; “Andrew’s experience in our specialist sectors will be invaluable to our clients and it’s great to have him join the team.”

The firm specialises in health and social care law.

COMMERCIAL law firm, Rollits, which has offices in York and Hull, has appointed two associates.

Chris Crystal who works in the property department and Andrew Digwood from the dispute resolution department have been promoted to associate level.

Mr Crystal joined Rollits in 2006 and is a commercial property lawyer specialising in secured lending and corporate support in transactions work.

Mr Digwood joined the firm in 2004 and specialises in intellectual property and property disputes.

We congratulate them on their well-deserved promotions which are an acknowledgement of the hard work they have put in over the years.”

POINT-of-Purchase company, Valley, has boosted its Bingley team with five new recruits.

David Williams joins Valley as head of marketing, and is joined by Daniel Marr who joins as marketing manager, Jon Howland-Nielson, Jon Pacey and Andrew Moss who join the company as business development managers.

James Haggas, joint managing director of Valley, said; “We’re delighted to welcome so many new starters to the team. We’re expanding in many departments and it’s great to add more skilled and talented people to the Valley family.
