Morgan Sindall secures £30m Skipton contract

CONSTRUCTION group Morgan Sindall has won a £30m contract to build new homes as part of a major development scheme in Skipton.

The project will be delivered by its affordable housing division, Lovell, working with property developer Maple Grove Developments and Craven District Council.

The contract is part of a wider £40m scheme to build new homes and expand the town’s shopping centre.

Lovell will be responsible for the housing in the scheme, worth £30m, with the homes being a mixture of open market, affordable rent and shared ownership.

Morgan Sindall chief executive Paul Smith said: “Lovell continues to make progress developing its market-leading position in the affordable housing arena with this latest deal, one of a number we have already secured this year.

“We look forward to working with Maple Grove and Craven District Council to deliver the development.”
