SME in Brief: Move for Servatech; Agri-business gets royal thumbs up;  Rotherham offers entrepreneurs helping hand

SERVATECH Computer Solutions, the full-service IT solutions provider, has acquired new premises in Wakefield as it continues its Northern expansion.

The company has moved into prestigious new headquarters at Chapelthorpe Hall to accommodate the company’s continued growth.

The Grade II listed building has undergone extensive and sensitive refurbishment to create 8,500 sq ft of office space.

Steve Spence, sales and marketing director at Servatech said: “The offices are almost a statement of intent for Servatech as we continue to concentrate on offering the best customer service in our sector.”

The Royal visit was in recognition of Wharfe Valley’s continued growth and its implementation of new equipment for faster bottling made possible with a Yorkshire Forward grant.

Business co-founder Sallyann Kilby said: “The business is growing every week and it’s a great feeling to have started from nothing and now have listings in three major supermarkets along with the continued support of more than 400 independent food stores throughout the UK.

“We were thrilled His Royal Highness chose to visit us and were very busy preparing for the occasion.”

Wharfe Valley Farms was established three years ago and now supplies supermarkets such as Morrison’s, Asda and Booths.

The company will shortly be supplying 90 stores of another national supermarket chain.

BUDDING entrepreneurs in Rotherham are now being offered a helping hand thanks to a team of local business coaches.

Rotherham Enterprise has been set up by partners in the borough to give people who have an idea and want to start their own business or current business owners, some direction.

The coaches are able to offer free advice and can help people to develop their ideas and mentor them through the first steps of setting up a company or give them the direction they need to grow their business.

Geoff Link, from Rotherham Enterprise said: “It’s important for us to support our local communities by encouraging individuals who want to take that leap into the business world, and in turn develop an enterprising culture across the region.

“Whether it is help about self employment, starting an enterprise from scratch, or even keeping existing businesses going, our coaches and support officers can offer free confidential advice through the project, which is funded by European Regional Development Fund.”
