Linfoot boosts team as it reaches for the sky

PROPERTY developer KW Linfoot has restructured its management team and made a number of senior appointments.

The city living company, which is behind some of Yorkshire's major schemes, said it had made the appointments as part of its ongoing growth strategy.

Leeds-based KW Linfoot has promoted Richard Dean from development director to become joint managing director alongside Michael Luscombe.

David Waddington and Ged Feeley have also been promoted to the board of directors as sales and marketing director and commercial director respectively.

The pair have joined existing board members Mike Forth, the company's technical director; construction director Chris Hildreth; and chairman Kevin Linfoot.

Richard Bland has joined the business as finance director, while Ged Simmonds has been recruited as the company's development director.

Mr Bland has joined Linfoot from Royal Bank of Scotland where he was senior director and head of property banking for the North of England.

Mr Simmonds, who has joined from Bovis Lend Lease, will control the initial stages of each of Linfoot's new developments including land acquisition and development appraisal as well as working within the design and construction teams.

Mr Simmonds was previously development director at Bovis where he supervised the day to day management of the £200m regional oncology centre at St James's Hospital in Leeds.

The appointments have increased Linfoot's inhouse staff to 30.

The company has started work on site at Lumiere in Wellington Street, Leeds, where it is to build the tallest residential building in western Europe. It has also completed West Point in Leeds and has developed apartments at Bridgewater Place, Yorkshire's first skyscraper.

Mr Linfoot has also announced plans to build a key worker in Leeds, a new scheme in London and four residential towers at the new BBC MediaCity:UK destination at Salford Quays, Manchester.

The company's portfolio under management stands at around £900m, but Mr Linfoot said this figure would increase when several new developments are unveiled.

Mr Linfoot said: “I am delighted to bolster the team with such high calibre people that are extremely well regarded across the industry. Our reputation for delivering high quality residential apartments is very much attributed to the knowledge and individual flair of our professional team.

“At KW Linfoot Plc we strive to deliver exceptional living environments and I believe that our new senior management team will provide a new dimension that will help us to achieve even greater success nationwide.”
