Vet services firm Dechra appoints non-executive director

DECHRA Pharmaceuticals, the veterinary services and drug development company, has appointed Bryan Morton as a non-executive director.

The group, which employs 206 people at its Dales operation in Skipton, North Yorkshire, said today that Mr Morton would join the board in January.

Mr Morton has a 30 year career in the pharmaceutical industry largely with Merck & Co and Bristol Myers Squibb, where he has held positions of responsibility within marketing, sales, business development and general management.

In 2003 he founded Zeneus Pharma, an oncology and critical care bio-pharmaceutical company, which was sold in 2005.

He is currently president and chief executive of EUSA Pharma, a specialist pharmaceutical company focussing on oncology, pain control and critical care, which he founded in 2006.

Dechra’s chairman Michael Redmond, said “The board is delighted that Bryan has accepted the position of non-executive director and we look forward to working with him to further strengthen Dechra’s reputation as a leading international veterinary pharmaceutical business.”
