Munro launches Elect Club professionals dating service

A DATING service aimed at busy single professionals has launched in Yorkshire.

Caron Munro has established the Elect Club franchise for the region, following its success in London and Manchester. Another franchise is set to be launched shortly in Bristol.

Ms Munro believes there are limited opportunities for busy professionals and business people in the region to meet potential partners.

Initially aimed at people in Leeds, there are plans to launch the service in Harrogate and across North Yorkshire.

Ms Munro describes Elect Club as an “exclusive social network for attractive dynamic eligible professionals looking for a serious relationship”, and the organisation claims to have one of the largest private databases of single professionals in the UK.

“Even if you’re 30, some people don’t want to be trawling around bars (to find a partner),” Ms Munro said. “But this is a young, vibrant city with lots of people looking for that someone special.”

Elect Club members, who pay a fee to join the service, have a consultation with  Ms Munro who then compiles a personal profile for them. She then matches individuals together with potential partners.

Ms Munro, who sold her networking company CM Networking to Club LS1 before becoming membership director at the Leeds members club, said the service was aimed at people aged between 25 and 45.

There is also a service – Elect Club Classic – aimed at professionals aged over 45.

Ms Munro described the service as “an introduction agency” and said although the emphasis was on face to face meetings being arranged through member’s profiles, Elect Club would run social events for members.

The 50-year-old said with statistics showing that only 9% of women and 2% of men find a relationship in a bar, Elect Club could increase the odds of professionals finding a partner.

Ms Munro, who is looking to recruit two consultants to help grow the club’s membership base, has received backing from Yorkshire Bank and was advised by the bank’s Leanne Berry.

Elect Club will be officially launched at an event taking place at its base at The Chambers in Leeds city centre in September.
