A business which started out with one shop in Bradford and has grown to become the largest independent sandwich producer in the UK has been crowned with a national award.

Tiffin Sandwiches started out in 2000 and now supplies a host of top universities, hospitals, every Ikea store in the country, and the Metropolitan Police.

This week, it won the Barclays Bank Entrepreneur Awards 2017 Northern section, taking home the National Award Scale Up Entrepreneur of the Year for taking a small sandwich shop to a £17m business employing 300 people.

Also supplying train companies and theme parks, Tiffin has increased turnover and profitability each year for the last 10 years.

Nick Hogan, national sales manager, said: “We were up against seven other regional winners and we are really proud of the achievement, it is an award for everyone at Tiffin Sandwiches.”

Tiffin’s fleet of 40 refrigerated vehicles deliver millions of products nationally from its Northern and Southern dispatch depots.

It has now moved into a new state of the art factory at Euroway Park in Bradford, which has a production capacity of a million products per week.
