Local businesses unite to give back to Bradford district

A new charitable campaign has been launched to provide individuals and businesses with the opportunity to support local communities across Bradford.

The #GiveBradford campaign provides a vehicle for businesses wanting to give back to the area where they live and/ or work.

There are 41,000 children living in poverty and Bradford ranked as the 5th most income deprived local authority in England there is much that can be done to support the district. The #GiveBradford campaign aims to galvanise support to create positive change in local communities by encouraging investment into the Third Sector.

It aims to address local issues and support local people through two strategic giving mechanisms:

  • The 100 Club membership scheme, which unites business leaders.
  • Named Funds to provide an opportunity for local companies and individuals to set up their own charitable fund allowing them to direct their money to the causes they care about.

Managed by Leeds Community Foundation (LCF), the campaign has been created in consultation with a Steering Group of business leaders from across the district and chaired by local entrepreneur Craig Burton, CEO of The Works Recruitment.

LCF has invested over £3.8m since 2012 to support community projects and small charities across Bradford, which in turn have benefited over 155,000 local people.
