Swedish design firm picks North Yorkshire for UK head office

Swedish firm Nilorn, a branding and design company, has announced it is launching a 15,000 sq ft base in North Yorkshire.
Candelisa, the Skipton-based UK property developer, has agreed terms for the office and employment space at its mixed-use Motor Works scheme in Cononley.
The property is being built specifically for Nilorn and will be the new site of its UK head office. Work is scheduled for completion at the start of next year.
Guy Taylor, managing director of Candelisa, said: “We are delighted to have concluded this deal with Nilorn which will provide a major boost to the local economy and create potential employment opportunities.”
The Motor Works is a £30m development which includes the conversion of the former Green’s Mill into 51 apartments, as well as the construction of an additional 46 homes on the brownfield site.
Meanwhile, Candelisa said it is “optimistic” of a successful outcome for its proposed Anley Crag Business Park to the south of Settle when it goes before local planners, hopefully in August. The proposals for the site, between the A65 and B6480, include over 137,000 sq ft of commercial space and 19 residential units.
Taylor said that the sale agreed with Nilorn at its Cononley scheme highlights the opportunity to attract high end professional businesses into investing in North Yorkshire.
“We have evidence that the creation of an environmentally conscious, sophisticated business park at Anley Crag will attract similar professional businesses making it a great working environment and offering a fantastic work life balance.
“The scheme is also critical to Craven’s commitment to provide opportunities for talented professionals to live, work and remain in the rural North and help retain the vibrancy of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.”
