Retail units hit the market

Two retail units on the main pedestrian link from Northallerton High Street to the new Treadmills retail development have come to the market.

Unit 9 in central Arcade is a corner unit with ground floor retail space of 434 sq ft and 700 sq ft of office space above, while Unit 7 is a fully refurbished 563 sq ft retail unit.

“Units 9 and 7 are the last available shops in a highly desirable arcade in one of the region’s best loved shopping destinations which has the added benefit of being on the main pedestrian route to the new retail development on the site of Northallerton prison,” says letting agent Richard Wilson of Middlesbrough-based commercial property agents Dodds Brown.

“With the amount of first floor office space, Unit 9 would suit a professional services firm looking for a town centre office, while unit 7 would make an excellent shop with little fit-out expenditure required, as many internal improvements were carried out by the previous tenant.

“Central Arcade itself recently benefited from a six figure investment by the landlord in new archways, lighting, signage and hard landscaping.

“With nearby occupiers including NatWest, Hays Travel, Lewis & Cooper, The Bridal Lounge, Greensleeves and Rock Box Music Shop, Central Arcade is a good location for smaller retailers, in a town which thanks to its mix of independent shops, anchored by Barkers department store, is extremely popular with shoppers.”
