New homes development to deliver £500,000 of investment

A 58-new homes development is set to generate more than £500,000 of investment in Holme Valley.

Housing developer Jones Homes has now commenced work on building three, four and five-bedroom homes at Heather View on Dunford Road in Hade Edge.

As part of the planning agreement for Heather View, Jones Homes will contribute £246,000 towards education and £287,500 to fund road improvements in the local area.

Twelve affordable homes will also be built to help meet local housing need.

David Ruffley, regional director for Jones Homes Yorkshire, said: “New homes bring many benefits to communities and we are proud to be investing in Hade Edge and the wider Holmfirth area.

“The homes we are building at Heather View have been designed to cater for everyone from aspiring first-time buyers and young professionals to growing families and people looking to downsize.”

Ruffley added: “We worked closely with the local authority to determine the mix of homes. They include three-bedroom semi-detached and four and five-bedroom detached homes. The affordable homes will include two bungalows.

“We are no strangers to the Holme Valley, having built more than 20 developments in Kirklees over the past 20 years and as such, have seen a good response from interested parties. The location is proving popular with people who live further afield, as well as those wishing to remain within the village and people looking to set down roots in the Holme Valley.

“Our planning contributions will ensure the infrastructure is in place to support the sensitive expansion of the village.”
