Plans submitted for ‘major residential’ scheme with 800 new homes
Proposals have been unveiled for an 800-new homes scheme that forms part of a “landmark development” in Goole.
Housebuilder Beal Homes has submitted plans for the first phase of the scheme, which will be built on a 73-acre site over a period of 15 years.
The development, which is Beal Homes’ largest ever single scheme, will have an estimated value of £130m.
Outline planning consent was granted for development of the Goole site in 2016 and now, having secured the land, Beal has submitted a “reserved matters” application for the first phase of 196 open market properties and 10 affordable homes.
Dependent on planning approval, construction work is expected to commence on the first homes this summer.
The overall scheme make a major contribution to the requirements of the East Riding Local Plan for the delivery of almost 2,000 new homes to be built in Goole up to 2029.
The site, which is north of Rawcliffe Road and adjacent to the M62, also has the provision of a new primary school and additional open space.
Beal said that over the course of the development, the employment of almost 2,500 people will be secured.
