Housing maintenance provider unveils expansion plans across South Yorkshire

Wates Living Space, the affordable housing maintenance provider, is looking to grow its portfolio of housing repairs and maintenance in Rotherham and Barnsley.

The expansion plans will see Wates Living Space  grow its network of South Yorkshire-based supply chain partners as well creating opportunities for training and employment.

The firm will also build on its contract portfolio in the region, which currently includes a £2.7m contract to install new external wall insulation to homes across Sheffield on behalf of Sheffield City Council.

The move will see the Wates Group look to grow its existing work pipeline in Rotherham, where Wates Residential North is currently building over 200 new homes in partnership with Rotherham Council as part of its Rother Living housing brand.

David Morgan, managing director of Wates Living Space, said: “We have a very strong team in South Yorkshire with shared expertise across many elements of the housing industry. Through our strategic growth plans for the county, we hope to bring these skills and expertise to a number of housing repairs and maintenance programmes to ultimately give our clients’ residents and customers the high level of service on which we pride ourselves.

“With our business’ growth will come a commitment to create opportunities for our work to benefit our neighbours. As well as welcoming local people to train and work within our teams, we will also look to engage with community groups, schools and charities across Rotherham and Barnsley to ensure our presence in South Yorkshire becomes a meaningful force for good.”
