Plans submitted for 260 new homes mixed-use development

Plans have been submitted for the redevelopment of the former Kirkstall District Centre in Leeds into a new residential-led scheme.

The proposals comprise more than 260 homes, and will provide a small-scale commercial unit for retail or co-working office space.

The new homes will include 80 family townhouses and 183 apartments providing one, two, three and four-bedroom accommodation.

The development, to be known as ‘Kirkstall Place’, will be set within a landscape environment providing amenity green space and new pedestrian routes which will link the site with surrounding areas of Kirkstall.

Acting on behalf of developer, Artisan Real Estate, the Planning and Development team from CBRE’s Leeds office submitted the full planning application for Kirkstall Place.

Clive Wilding, property director at Artisan Real Estate, said: “Artisan Real Estate is a mixed-use city centre developer and we are delighted to be preparing a scheme on this site that will deliver a mix of housing in a development that creates a strong sense of place for the local community.

“This is the same team who developed the award winning Kelham Island in Sheffield and we aim to create a similar outcome in regenerating this important brownfield site in Kirkstall.”
