DHL warehouse snapped up in £6m deal

A 73,245 sq ft DHL distribution warehouse unit in a prime industrial area of Wakefield has been acquired in a £6m deal.

The transaction sees new owners Columbia Threadneedle acquire the Normanton-based premises from DHL Supply Chain.

Located on Waindyke Way on Normanton Industrial Estate, the warehouse forms part of an 9.8 acre site situated a quarter of a mile from J31 of the M62, and in close proximity to Wakefield town centre, Pontefract and Leeds.

Roger Haworth, partner at CPP, the agents advising on the sale, said: “Located in close proximity to Leeds, and within easy reaching distance of the M62 and M1 motorways, this unit is situated in one of Yorkshire’s central business hubs, surrounded by notable tenants such as ASDA, Haribo and Argos.

“We are delighted to have advised DHL on another successful deal.  Interest in the unit once brought to market was significant given its features, size and location, and its quick sale serves to highlight the continued demand for industrial and warehouse investment premises in Yorkshire.”
