Land acquisition marks second phase of Nexus industrial development

The second phase of Carnell Management Services’ Nexus industrial project at Capitol Park in Barnsley is set to get underway.

The company has acquired another parcel of land at Capitol Park as part of its Nexus industrial development. It is the last to be sold off at the 36-acre development, two miles from Barnsley town centre.

Construction is underway at phase one, at which they will deliver 15 units between 3,000 and 11,800 sq ft. Carnell is looking at a completion date for phase one by the end of Q3 2019. This follows the first tranche of development funding from CBRE Loan Services, on which Gordons advised.

Sarah Ratcliffe, commercial property partner at Gordons, assisted by Danielle Johnson and Albert Bell, also advised Carnell on phase two.

Gordons commercial property partner, Sarah Ratcliffe, said: “This is a strategic purchase which will result in further significant development at Capitol Park, bringing additional employment and investment to the area.

“We were pleased to act on behalf of Carnell Management Services again and look forward to seeing the scheme come to fruition.”

Martyn Carnell from Carnell Management Services said: “We are delighted to see this scheme come to life and are confident of occupier demand.”
