Listed health and hygiene business buys 4.7-acre site

Global health, hygiene and home produce company RB has purchased 4.7 acres of land next to its current site in Hull.

The business, which has its own base in nearby Dansom Lane South, confirmed it has bought the land on the corner of Cleveland Street and Chapman Street.

A spokesman for the firm, previously known as Reckitt Benckiser, said: “While there are currently no definitive plans for the land, the purchase demonstrates the company’s commitment to the Hull site and provides flexibility around its future operations in the city.

“Hull is the birth place of the original Reckitt business, established in 1840, and is a key site for the company’s multi-million-pound innovation pipeline and global manufacturing operations.”

The land was previously owned by Allenby Commercial, which confirmed the sale to RB.

RB operates in more than 60 countries and has about 40,000 employees. Its range of well-known brands include Dettol, Nurofen, Harpic, Vanish and Air Wick.
