Where do you live/where are you from?

I currently live in Meltham, prior to this I lived in Marsden. Both are beautiful areas of Huddersfield.

What is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?

A current family favourite is Cannon Hall Farm. My daughter loves the animals there, especially the petting area. The food is also very tasty there!

What is still on your “to do” list in the region?

I keep meaning to visit Yorkshire Sculpture Park, I know it’s supposed to be amazing, but I just haven’t got round to it yet.

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had in Yorkshire?

There are too many to mention, I love my food! I did once go to a lovely little pub in York which served the most delicious pork dish. I can’t remember the name but would definitely try and find it again.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?

I absolutely love Yorkshire puddings and they must be homemade. I have a strong Yorkshire accent too which I guess is the biggest giveaway as to where I’m from.

Favourite piece of trivia about the region.

Marsden is home to the Standedge tunnel – Britain’s highest, longest deepest canal tunnel. I always loved looking in the tunnel as a child, I found it quite fascinating. The first boat to go through the tunnel was the “Lively Lady” in 1811.

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?

I think it has to be the one and only, Yorkshire girl, Jessica Ennis. She is an amazing lady, Yorkshire’s very own Olympic gold medallist. She was born in the same year as me too.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?

I just wish it was a bit warmer. I don’t like the cold – everyone I know and work with will agree on this one.

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?

I do love a good Lancashire hotpot, so I think it would have to be that.

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?

…Nothing!
