Professionals recruited to form new residential services division

CBRE has launched a full service residential division in Leeds, following the recent recruitment of a team of experts.

The company says the new division represents a “significant shift” in the way it delivers its residential service to clients.

Senior director Mike Gorman, who joined from Knight Frank last year to head CBRE’s residential investment, development and funding team in the North, will lead the new division supported by Kate Lightfoot, senior surveyor in the capital markets team.

The residential valuation business team is headed by Olivia McClea, specialising in development, BTR and investment stock.

The trio will complement a team of residential professionals in the North, including Oliver Freer, head of planning; head of Leeds’ Investment Properties team, Guy Hurwood, covering funding, student and JVs; Nina Barker, head of new homes and senior planners Megan Bracha and Alison Mackay.

The eight-strong team will offer a complete residential service to clients covering land, development, investment, new homes, consultancy, valuation, funding, research, planning and surveys.

Gorman said: “To know that a client can walk into our local office and meet a market leading expert across any of the residential disciplines is truly a game changer in Leeds and our established clients are already benefiting from our holistic approach.

“All eyes are on Leeds as a regional hotspot for residential. Last year the city saw record levels of residential development, particularly build to rent schemes in the city centre and suburbs like Headingley.

“Big funders and developers including Addington Capital, Grainger, L&G and CDL are active in Leeds, bringing forward residential-led developments, and we can expect more to follow.”
