Where do you live/where are you from?

I live on the outskirts of Huddersfield close to the beautiful scenic countryside. I have never lived anywhere else and I absolutely love this town.

What is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?

Harewood House is one of my favourite places to visit. No matter what time of year we visit, it is such a magical place.

What is still on your “to do” list in the region?

I love eating out but have never been to a 5-star Michelin restaurant. Any recommendations are of course welcome!

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had in Yorkshire?

How could you not love a Yorkshire Pudding! There was a restaurant in Mirfield that was famous for this. Very tasty.  You could have Yorkshire Pudding starter, Yorkshire Pudding main meal with anything with it. Unfortunately, no Yorkshire Pudding dessert.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?

Although born and bred in Yorkshire, I’m more of a spender than a saver. A good friend of mine once said, ‘Life is for living’ and I certainly live by that saying.

Favourite piece of trivia about the region.

Harold Wilson was born in Huddersfield and became Prime Minister initially from 1964-1970 and then again 1974-1976.

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?

Castle Hill. I remember walking up a lot of steps as a young child and have been back lots of times over the years.  The view from the tower is amazing.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?

Going down the Coal Mining Museum. I was terrified. That said, the tour was fascinating.

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?

A beautiful coastline.

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?

This is a difficult one…Holmfirth. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice place but I feel it is overrated.
