58-bed hotel is on the market for £1.9m

Grimsby’s Humber Royal Hotel is on sale for offers in the region of £1.9m.

The purpose-built 58 bedroom hotel, which is next to Grimsby Golf Club, is being sold by sector specialist Colliers International.

Senior surveyor Robert Smithson said the hotel was expected to attract interest from property developers because of its well located 2.7 acre site, as well from potential buyers with experience in the hotel trade.

He added: “The Humber Royal Hotel is prominently located around two miles west of Grimsby town centre, adjacent to Grimsby Golf Club and with the rear of the hotel overlooking the golf course.

“It will be of interest to hoteliers as it is a popular leisure event venue for occasions such as weddings because of its impressive function suites and bar facilities.

“It is also able to attract corporate trade from the large number of businesses and industries within Grimsby and the surrounding area.

“The hotel’s location on a substantial site in a predominantly residential area means it is also likely to appeal to residential developers, as well as to developers of facilities such as care homes, because of the opportunities it offers, subject to planning consent.”

The property has five rooms available for conferences and meetings.

Public areas of the hotel include an open plan lounge bar and restaurant with seating for around 60 people.
