Backing secured for web development firm’s ambitious growth plans

A Leeds-based web development agency has secured support to assist with its ongoing expansion.

6B has gained funding from Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, the LEP’s Digital Investment Fund, #Grow.

The £11,000 grant from the LEP is delivered by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, through the Leeds City Region Growth Deal; a £1bn package of Government investment to accelerate growth and create jobs across Leeds City Region.

6B submitted a proposal to showcase how it would invest the funds to allow its team of experts to work on more complicated briefs.

Managing project development and collaboration better, with more powerful computing equipment, 6B will be able to cope with more demanding requirements.

Also, the grant will be used to extend the team with the appointment of at least one senior developer.

Additional funds will also be redirected to develop the agency’s Customer Relationship Management product, Dashboard.

6B intends to sell this product as a service across the world and ensure it will be available on all modern devices as a web application or native app.

Managing director of 6B, Paul Brown, said: “The £11,000 we have secured from the LEP’s #Grow Fund means we can pull forward our plans.

“We have expanded our team and our services over the years, but this will allow us to invest and focus on our Dashboard product too.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time for us as we continue to win new and more complicated briefs for both private and public sector organisations.

“Knowing we can appoint a further developer will provide us with the resource to meet with the needs of an increasing number of clients and projects.

“Despite being a challenging year in many ways, we have expanded our team and our portfolio of clients.

“We hope that with this injection of funds, we can continue to share the good news and positive steps we are taking.”

He said the agency has its eyes set on becoming a leading global force in web and app development, adding that its future development plan aims to secure a £10.2m turnover and a team of 100 employees.

Roger Marsh, chairman of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and NP11, said:  “Helping individual businesses take their next step is crucial to the broader growth across Leeds City Region, as we work towards an inclusive economic recovery.

“We remain focused on our support of this sector, and the lifecycle of business growth, which enables job creation and maintains the talent pipeline.”

6B has worked with several large private-sector clients including Candy Kittens and ITV, as well as start-ups such as Career Street and Trip Aid.

In addition, it has managed projects for public sector organisations including Public Health England, Bradford District Council, and a number of education and lifestyle bodies.
