Jobs saved at Norwood Interiors

MY House Group has bought part of bedroom and kitchen firm Norwood Interiors saving 20 jobs.
Leeds-based Norwood Interiors went into adminstration last week and its Leeds and Brighouse showrooms have now been sold.
The warehouse and distribution part of the business has been closed with the loss of 13 jobs.
Darren Cornwall, chief financial officer at My House Group, said: “Norwood Interiors is a strong brand with stunning showrooms and is renowned for offering top quality products and great customer service so I’m sure we can make the business successful again.
“Incorporating the company into My House Group will help us do this by positioning it alongside several related businesses that are all leading firms in their respective areas and markets. This will offer a wide range of cross-selling opportunities and enable Norwood to take advantage of the group’s substantial marketing weight which will all help to boost sales.”
My House Group is the company behind a range of home improvement companies including Christies Kitchens, Weatherseal and Job Worth Doing.
Chris Wood, administrator of Norwood Interiors and partner and insolvency practitioner at Clough Corporate Solutions, said: “Norwood is a well-known name in Yorkshire and has been around for more than 25 years so we are delighted to have found a buyer to take over the company’s showrooms.
“Although Norwood has suffered in the recession it still has a fantastic reputation and should complement the companies within My House Group.”
