Family-owned holiday parks company expands its portfolio
The family behind a group of North East holiday parks has taken ownership of a North Yorkshire park business in Topcliffe.
Maguires Country Parks, with legal advice provided by North East and Yorkshire law firm Square One Law and tax advice from Clive Owen LLP, has announced the acquisition of the country park in the Vale of York, which was previously known as Swaleside Holiday Park.
It brings to eight the number of parks now owned by the Maguire family who started out in business 40 years ago, developing parks aimed at the quality holiday market.
Their portfolio now includes one of North Yorkshire’s most highly-regarded park destinations, located on the banks of the River Swale near the village of Topcliffe.
It offers holiday home ownership opportunities in extensive landscaped grounds which include more than two acres of woodland.
Billy Maguire senior, business owner, said the country park in Topcliffe was a perfect complement to the other members of his group of holiday parks.
He added: “The park has been carefully and beautifully developed over the years by a family who, like us, are committed to providing the highest possible standards for customers.
“The location is absolutely stunning, and a perfect retreat for those seeking tranquil surroundings for breaks and longer stays throughout the four seasons.”
Maguires Country Parks are based in quiet rural locations in Northumberland, County Durham and North Yorkshire.
Maguire senior added: “Even during the present lockdown we’ve been receiving an escalating number of enquiries from people wanting to book holidays and find out about ownership.
“Now we’re just hoping that parks will soon be given the green light to re-open, and be able to provide just the type of escapes everyone needs and deserves.”
