Finance business extends its presence into the North East

Cleckheaton-headquartered commercial finance intermediary, ABL business, is moving ahead with its expansion plans by launching a North East regional office, headed by tax and VAT funding specialist Jonathan Barber.

Also boasting a presence in Scotland, the North West, and the South West, ABL says it is well on track to realise its vision of being a nationally-recognised finance intermediary, with five regional bases, by 2022.

Located in Durham and having opened its doors from 1 June, the North East office will allow ABL’s team of experts to provide a range of options to businesses in the area by making complex commercial finance simple.

Barber brings 30 years’ of commercial experience, as well as a comprehensive background in helping organisations across the North of England to grow via access to specialist financial products.

Andy Redman, joint managing director and co-founder at ABL Business, said: “The rise of the brand on the national stage will further support the team in providing exemplary advice to businesses on a local and regional level — utilising our deep understanding and collective insight into the UK’s commercial finance landscape.

“Local knowledge is crucial when it comes to building strong partnerships. When combined, our national training programme, share of knowledge, and access to the whole of the market from a funder perspective cements ABL as the finance intermediary of choice.”

Barber added: “I’m thrilled to be coming on board to develop additional partnerships within the region and to work closely with businesses and their advisors — and to contribute the learnings gained here to the wider team, which can then be applied on a country-wide basis.

“With my particular expertise in VAT and tax funding — alongside my experienced colleagues’ specialisms in other key areas — I’m keen to get started on supporting businesses in the North East to reach their potential.”
