Award winning distillery launches new ‘gins in tins’

Award winning gin producer, York Gin has launched a new range of “gins in tins” that are perfect for picnics, BBQs or any adventures.

The new range includes a classic gun and tonic or a Berry Fizz which has added natural fruit flavours. Both products use the distillery’s award winning London Dry as the based along with a premium bespoke light tonic designed especially for the new 6.5% drinks.

Pete McNichol, co-founder of York Gin said: “We’ve been experimenting with the gin and tonic recipes for several months – it’s harder than you might imagine to make the perfect G&T in a can. But we’re there! Our premium light tonic complements our London Dry gin beautifully.

“At 6.5%, the tonic doesn’t overpower the gin – it’s an excellent classic G&T that we believe is up there with the best on the market. The Berry Fizz is a lovely refreshing option with natural fruit – it will go down a storm in the current heatwave.”

The cans are currently available only and in the York Gin shop in York city centre as well as House of Townend wine merchants, Master of Malt, the House of the Trembling Madness in York, Field & Fawcett wine merchants, McMillans of Malton, Tate Smith, and a rapidly growing list of other wholesalers and retailers, priced at £3 per can; £11 per 4 pack; £40 per 16 pack.

This is the firm’s first foray into the ready to drink market but it certainly won’t be the last
