Bar group gets the round in with a Q3 profit increase

Bar group, MOJO, which opened in Leeds in 1996 and now has six venues across the North is celebrating after a dramatic increase in like-or-like trading on its 2019 figures.

The group which operates venues in Harrogate, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham and Liverpool and is soon to open a site in Sheffield, saw a 70% increase in turnover in Q3 this year when compared to the same period pre-Covid in 2019, despite what it referred to as the “well documented disaster” of 2020 for the hospitality industry.

Director Martin Greenhow said: “Despite many stumbling blocks due to Covid-19, I’m delighted to announce that MOJO has reported a 70% increase in like for like trading when compared to our 2019 figures. 2020 was a well documented disaster for our industry and I’m thrilled to be able to grow the group and its success even further in 2021.

“The hospitality industry was one of the industries that was hit the hardest by COVID-19, the various lockdowns and the new rules and regulations but despite this we’ve managed to deliver a hugely successful return to normal operations in 2021.

“We’re opening our sixth bar in Sheffield shortly and it’s great to be adding this to our success story. We look forward to continuing our expansion in the near future.”
