Marks & Spencer hunting for 600 workers to staff depot

High street giant Marks & Spencer has launched a major recruitment drive at its Bradford distribution centre in the run up to the busy Christmas period, with permanent and temporary posts to be filled.

A total of 600 jobs are available at the site, which is operated by global pure-play logistics provider and M&S partner GXO.

300 of the jobs are supporting the M&S Food business – helping prepare M&S’s food products for shipment to the company’s 1,000 plus UK stores. Roles range from forklift drivers to order pickers.

The other 300 jobs are on the Clothing & Home side of M&S – helping prepare the retailer’s clothing for shipment to stores.

The roles in this part of the distribution centre are general warehouse colleague positions, focusing on picking and packing within a highly automated warehousing environment.

Eddie Smith, Bradford DC general manager, GXO, said: “With less than two months to go until Christmas, many customers are getting their shopping done early this year – which means we’re as busy as ever here at the M&S Bradford Distribution Centre.

“That’s why we’re looking for 600 new recruits to join our friendly team, with flexible hours, permanent opportunities, and a great team spirit on offer.”
