Works begin on more than 100 homes as developer grows footprint

Construction has begun on a nine-acre site near Barnsley to deliver 113 homes with a gross development value (GDV) of around £28m.
Located on Hay Green Lane between Tankersley and Birdwell, the Avant Homes West Yorkshire development will comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Called Hay Green Park, the development received planning permission in March this year. The overall build programme is estimated to take about two and a half years.
Of the 113 homes being built, 10% have been designated as affordable. The first homes are set to be ready for occupation in November.
Avant Homes West Yorkshire managing director, Richard Hosie, said: “We’ve had great success delivering our recently sold-out St Paul’s Bank development in nearby Pilley, so we’re pleased to be extending our presence in the area with 113 new homes at Hay Green Park.
“We know our exciting range of new homes are popular with new homebuyers in the locality, so we are looking forward to progressing this development.”
Avant Homes West Yorkshire is part of the Avant Homes Group which currently operates across the Midlands, north of England and Scotland from eight regional operating businesses.
The housebuilder employs more than 600 people with ambition to grow further. The group has a medium-term strategic objective to sell more than 6,000 homes per annum.
