Timber frame construction business to boost production as turnover rises

Cleckheaton-based firm, TimberTight, which designs, makes and erects timber frames for the construction industry, plans to grow its workforce and double its production capacity.

The family-run business recorded 38% growth during the 12 months from October 2022 to October 2023 – an increase in turnover from £3.75m to £5.2m.

Its senior management, headed by husband-and-wife team Paul and Tamsyn Williamson, now aims for a further 27.5% growth this year, and 16.5% in 2025, which would take its turnover to £7.5m.

To accommodate this and allow the company to double production capacity, TimberTight is investing in an additional 7,500 sq ft of production space and a further 7,500 sq ft of yard space.

The company will also provide enhanced office space, to include a meeting room for clients.

Managing director Paul Williamson said: “These are exciting times for the TimberTight team. After recording this sustained growth, we are in a strong position and expect to consolidate and build on our success during 2024.

“There is more than enough work available to us, if we are proactive, despite increased competition.

“Our key objectives are to retain laser focus on our Unique Selling Points, which are based on great customer service and product quality.  It’s those that keep our customers coming back.”

To maximise its potential for growth, Timbertight is also increasing its investments in both staff and equipment, and purchased and installed a new CT 600 saw last year.

Looking ahead, the business plans to purchase another wall saw and, potentially, another CT 600, plus a machine to manufacture metalweb joists for its floors department. The company also intends to expand its workforce from 30 to 40 staff.
