Developers launch consultation on four industrial units

Community consultation has been launched on plans for four new industrial units in Balby, Doncaster, which could potentially create over 300 jobs for local people.

Specialist employment site developers, Total Developments, is seeking community feedback on the proposals ahead of submitting a detailed planning application to Doncaster Council,

If planning is approved, the four units would form the second phase of the neighbouring employment development, known as Total Park, which is off Balby Carr Bank and is currently under construction by the main contractor Pioneer Design & Build Ltd.

The new plans would create around 272,000 sq ft of employment space, across four new industrial units. Total Development has a track record of delivering high quality employment sites, with a focus on environmental sustainability. These proposals are no exception, and Total Developments are aiming to deliver buildings targeting a BREEAM Excellent sustainability rating and featuring a range of sustainability measures, including Electric Vehicle Charging Points.

Total Developments is now launching community consultation, with letters being issued to site neighbours inviting their feedback through the project website online-consultations.co.uk/balby.

A spokesperson for Total Developments said, “Our aim is to deliver a high quality new employment development in Balby, and we think it is really important to ensure that local people are given the opportunity to have their say on developments within their communities and we would encourage as many people as possible to take part in this forthcoming consultation.

“This proposal will provide much-needed new jobs and investment into the area, complementing Total Park, our existing development on the adjacent site. We believe that at least 300 jobs will be created on this second phase of development adding to the circa 450 local jobs on the initial phase of Total Park. This in addition to jobs created throughout the construction process.”

The site is allocated for employment development in Doncaster Council’s adopted Local Plan. Following the community consultation a planning application will be submitted to the council.
