Civil engineering business alerts administrators

A civil engineering business based in Sheffield has filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator.

A Catlow Civil Engineering Ltd, of Queen Street, employed an average of 52 workers during the year ended 31 March 2023.

The firm has provided civil engineering services to utility companies and blue chip civil engineering firms for over 20 years and has extensive experience in electricity and telecoms network installations.

Its clients have included Balfour Beatty, Amey, Ofcom and the Environment Agency.

On its website, the business reports it has a strong order book for 2024, which includes projects involving extra-high voltage (EHV) works in Sheffield, Immingham, and Rotherham. The firm also says it has secured additional projects in the Midlands region.

In its latest accounts, made up to the end of March 2023, the business had assets of just over £4m and was owed £816,590 by creditors.
