Electrical wholesaler snaps up extra space at trading estate
LEW Electrical Distributors, an electrical wholesaler with 18 branches across the UK, has expanded its lease space at the Towngate PLC-owned Copley Hill Trading Estate, in Leeds.
Having occupied the neighbouring 4,946 sq ft Unit E3 since 2016, LEW now has more than double the footprint in Leeds, with an additional 4,955 sq ft afforded by the newly occupied Unit E2.
The wholesaler benefits from a larger trade counter and storage operation, facilitating the delivery of its electrical service offering to the commercial, domestic, and industrial sectors, as well as the general public.
Units E2 and E3 form part of a large terrace at the development, which hosts clients such as Crown Decorating Centre, Howdens, Carpetright, Clifton Bathrooms, BAPP Industrial Supplies, Wolseley UK, The BSS Group, and Nicholls & Clarke.
Josh Johnson, operations director at LEW Electrical, said: “This is a prime spot for our business. Not just because of the excellent amenities on site, but because of its location too.
“Leeds city centre is approximately one and a half miles north east of the estate, with the M621 situated even closer, providing excellent links to the national motorway network and bringing greater efficiency to our UK-wide operations.
“Having leased the neighbouring unit since 2016, we’re confident in Towngate’s ability to manage high-specification trade counters like ours.”
LEW was co-founded in 1993 by managing director Andrew Johnson and his father, Keith Johnson.
From its beginnings in Gainsborough, the company is now has branches across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, the Midlands, and the North West.
Tom Lamb, property manager at Towngate PLC, added: “We are pleased to have been able to facilitate LEW’s growth within the Copley Hill Trading Estate.
“The duo of properties provides a prominent and modern home for LEW in Leeds, situated within this established and popular trade location, with excellent links to the national motorway network.
“The development’s existing tenants complement the business perfectly too, creating a hub of sought-after services spanning the commercial, industries, and residential sectors.”
