£2m property investment at growing groundworks company

Groundworks services business, Shanco Contracts, is expanding its footprint with the acquisition and planned development of new premises in Garforth, Leeds.

This investment aligns with the company’s long-term vision to grow and develop its operational capacity across the UK.

The newly acquired site covers about 0.9 acres and features existing warehouse and workshop units.

Shanco explains its move integrates the development of a mixed-use site, including a two-storey office and a purpose-built workshop, alongside a substantial outside yard.

The expansion forms a key part of Shanco’s detailed growth plan, which includes increased engagement in groundworks projects on a national scale.

Architects are currently working on the design, with plans in the application stage. About £2m has been allocated for the project.

Stephen Richardson, commercial director of Shanco, said: “Over the past three years, we’ve developed fantastic client relationships and have grown substantially, so these new premises are a much-needed aspect of our continued development.

“Our commitment to excellence and fostering strong relationships aligns perfectly with this growth initiative, ensuring Shanco remains at the forefront of the industry.”
