St Modwen secures Siemens approval

THE Yorkshire office of regeneration specialist St Modwen has helped pioneer a planning permission to deliver a 235,000 sq ft facility for Siemens which is set to house 500 employees.
The development is set to be built at Teal Park, in North Hykeham, near Lincoln.
The approval paves the way for work to begin on the 75,000 sq ft of offices, 84,900 sq ft of workshops and 54,000 sq ft of warehousing, along with 21,500 sq ft of testing facilities and associated works.
Building work is expected to start this month, with completion due by the end of 2012.
The company’s Lincolnshire facilities design, manufacture and service gas turbines for Siemens’ power range and export to more than 88 countries.
Stephen Prosser, Yorkshire and North East regional director for St Modwen Properties, said: “We are delighted to have received consent for the detailed planning permission. The team has done an excellent job of securing consent for this
important project which now opens the door for us to progress this vital facility for Siemens.
“As Siemens’ development partner, we have worked closely with Siemens, North Kesteven District Council, Drivers Jonas Deloitte and various other parties involved to ensure that this complex project moves forward and the facility can be successfully delivered.”
The facility at Teal Park will achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
Neil Corner, director service at Siemens in Lincoln, said: “We have worked with St. Modwen, our landlord, for the last 12 months on the proposal and look forward to working with them on this next stage. We hope to be able to move our staff and workshop to Teal Park in the final quarter of 2012, and for the facility to be fully operational in early 2013.”
