Appointments: InTechnology welcomes graduate talent; Sales hire for Smoothwall; and more

CLOUD services provider InTechnology has welcomed ten graduate trainees to its Sales Academy programme designed to find the next generation of technology sales talent.

The successful applicants, from a range of academic disciplines, will join the programme as fully paid trainees and undergo an intensive four week training course including tests, assessments and role-play scenarios.

Natalie Duffield, sales and customer management director at Harrogate-based InTechnology, said: “The introduction of the Sales Academy aims to open the door to those talented individuals, regardless of academic background, and to equip them with the knowledge, know-how and transferable skills to succeed in business.

“The Academy also allows us to nurture this talent and see them grow from trainees to senior figures within the company.”

WEB security and filtering specialist Smoothwall has appointed a new corporate sales manager to support its continued expansion into the UK domestic corporate market.

Ricky Dransfield, who previously ran his own technology business, will be responsible for growing the corporate client base and will head up a team of four.

His appointment follows a series of recent contract wins with household names which will see the Leeds-based business strengthen its position in the corporate IT security arena.

Smoothwall’s group sales director Richard Moore said: “Currently our corporate business accounts for around 31% of our turnover but we plan to increase this significantly over the next year with Ricky driving this crucial sector of our business forward.”
