Camelia adds to stable with acquisition

CAMELIA Care Group has added to its operations with the acquisition of a Yorkshire residential care home.

Carmel Lodge in Moortown, Leeds, is to be re-named Bluebell Lodge.

Camelia already operates Mulgrave House, Grove Court and Sunnyside residential care homes in the city and the newly acquired site will specialise in care for elderly people with dementia.

Bluebell Lodge is a 20 bedroom home employing 25 staff.

Kevin Brown, managing director for the Camelia Care Group, said: “Our latest acquisition and plays an integral part in our plans for future growth.

“With the new financial structure in place we intend to be pro-active in taking advantage of the opportunities the current climate presents and I’m delighted that we have been able to secure this new site in Leeds.”

The funding package was put together by Tavia Sparks, Barclays Corporate relationship director.

She added: “It really is a pleasure to see a local health care company go from strength to strength and buck the current market trend.”
