Kleinwort Benson celebrates launch

INVESTMENT bank Kleinwort Benson celebrated the opening of its Leeds office with more than 160 guests at an event held last week.

Guests enjoyed an evening of jazz music, magic, food and champagne at Anthony’s at Flannels.

Artwork by Darren Baker – who has recently been chosen to paint the Queen and has just been selected as one of the official artists for the 2012 Olympics – was also displayed at the event.

Kleinwort Benson’s Leeds office will provide a range of banking, fiduciary services and investment management advice to enterprising initiatives, including tax-efficient structured products, pensions advice and absolute return investments.

Over the past twelve months, Kleinwort Benson has established offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Newbury and Cambridge thus catering to the increasing market for wealth management outside the London area.

The new office is located in No 1 City Square and headed by Carl Ward.

Mr Ward joined Kleinwort Benson in October 2007 as Head of Leeds, Private Wealth Management, having worked previously for Chase de Vere Private Clients and Robson Rhodes Chartered Accountants.

Chief executive Robert Taylor said: “We are very excited about the potential for business growth in Leeds and Yorkshire and confident that we can bring a fresh and innovative approach to wealth management in this region that is backed by a long history of delivery. Our team in Leeds has an excellent knowledge of financial services and we are sure that our clients will greatly benefit from our extensive experience.”
