Hotel for sale following business review

QHOTELS has put one of its Yorkshire hotels on the market as it looks to trim down its portfolio.

Christie + Co has been instructed to offload Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel in Alne, North Yorkshire.

QHotels, which has a portfolio of hotels including The Queens Hotel in Leeds and Tankersley Manor near Sheffield, said it was looking to sell the four star hotel following a review of the business.

The group has also put Bridgewood Manor Hotel in Chatham, Kent; The Stratford Hotel in Stratford upon Avon; and Park Royal Hotel, in Stretton near Warrington on the market.

QHotels invested £200,000 to revamp bedrooms at Aldward Manor, near York, and create six suites at the 54-bedroom hotel last year.

Aldwark Manor lies in 100 acres of parkland and boasts an 18 hole golf course.

Martin Davis, director and location manager at Christie + Co, said: “With their high quality bedrooms, meeting and conferencing facilities and superb leisure and spa amenities, these four QHotels assets are certain to generate tremendous interest from both existing hotel operators and a variety of investors.”

Last filed accounts for QHotels, which is owned by London-based PE house Alchemy Partners, showed a pre-tax loss of £20m in 2010 on turnover of £117.7m.
