Timber lodges built on holiday park

A HOLIDAY park in North Yorkshire has launched its extended facilities to the public after receiving a £500,000 investment.

Coppergreen Developments has built 12 new timber holiday lodges, a reception, store and parking, funded with support from HSBC at its site in Thirsk.

HSBC’s commercial banking team in South Yorkshire provided a development loan of £500,000 to assist in the phase of development.

Martin Nattrass, HSBC’s area commercial director for South Yorkshire, said: “We have worked with Coppergreen for many years and this latest development is a great example how the business capitalises on growth opportunities.

“The UK hospitality industry is enjoying a resurgence thanks to a growing trend for the ‘staycation’ and Coppergreen is capitalising on this trend by investing in the business at an opportune time.”

The Woodland Lakes holiday park is situated on a converted farmland in North Yorkshire and boasts 39 lodges for rent.

The enlarged park in Thirsk is one of Sheffield-based Coppergreen’s portfolio of 11 holiday parks across North Yorkshire and the Lake District.

Richard Sidi, director of Coppergreen Developments, said: “This is an exciting time for us as we open our newly developed lodges to customers and look to prepare for the future of the business with the continued support of our bank.”
