Housing future for commercial land

LAND previously earmarked for a new office development will now be turned into housing.

Strata Homes will build 86 new homes at Temple Point, Colton, on the outskirts of Leeds.

The site was originally part of a planned 144,000 sq ft office scheme by Amco Developments and Tolent Construction.

Half of the scheme has been developed and Temple Point is now home to offices of Yorkshire Water and the DVLA.

Peter Brown, managing director of Amco Developments, said: ““We are very pleased to finally be starting the final phase of the Temple Point development by providing much needed housing into the Leeds region.”

Strata Homes submitted its application to use the site for housing, which has been approved by Leeds City Council, through Turley Associates.

Kevin Chapman, development Director of Strata Homes, said: “Strata are thrilled to be part of this exciting new project, we’ve got a fantastic range of luxury designer homes that will add to already vibrant surroundings at Temple Point.”
