Ernst & Young to move to Marina Court

ERNST & Young is to move its Hull office to the Marina Court development.

The company revealed plans to leave its existing premises in Lowgate earlier this year and has now confirmed it will complete the move before the end of 2012.

Ernst & Young joins Andrew Jackson at Marina Court after the law firm announced in September it is taking 19,000 sq ft in the complex.

Hull senior partner Alan Kirkman said: “Our move to Marina Court is a milestone in our long history in Hull. Marina Court will become a professional services hub in the city, delivering a modern environment for our people and clients in a central location, overlooking the Marina.”

Property group Wykeland bought Marina Court last year and is currently overseeing a £1m refurbishment by contractors Hobson & Porter and Voase.

Ernst & Young Yorkshire senior partner David Buckley said: “This move marks our commitment to the market and investment in the regional economy. It is part of a wider plan to expand our offering in Yorkshire over the next five years.

“Companies in East Yorkshire are active in both local and overseas markets and we are ideally placed to connect them internationally to accelerate their growth plans.”

Wykeland finance director Ian Franks added: “With firms such as Andrew Jackson and Ernst & Young in residence, the complex will certainly play a key role in Hull’s commercial activity in the years to come.”
