Regional HQ deal for Taylor Wimpey

TAYLOR Wimpey has acquired its regional headquarters building at Calder Park, having occupied the premises since 2007.
The 10,000 sq ft grade A accommodation was previously leased by the homebuilding group.
Jonathan Webster, regional financial director for Taylor Wimpey Wakefield, said: “As a business and following some restructuring, we have now achieved a well-balanced and sustainable platform for the future with 25 offices nationwide.
“Our strategic sights are set on the provision of consistent, high quality homes and consistent service levels and our current address meets all our needs in achieving those objectives.
“An opportunity arose to purchase the premises at a good price so we decided to take the plunge. The message is clear, we aren’t going anywhere.”
The company employs 150 people at the site.
Richard Dunn, of Sanderson Weatherall, which acted for Taylor Wimpey, said: “Market conditions are ideal for well-placed businesses to make a choice about whether to own or lease their premises. Generally speaking owner occupiers stand to make long term gains as they profit from the current competitive rents on offer.”
