Historic hall comes to market

AN historic, Grade two listed hall in West Yorkshire, once home to the founders of The Salvation Army, is up for sale.
Steeton Hall near Silsden dates back to 1662 and was privately owned until the mid-1980’s, having been the former home of the Booth sisters who founded The Salvation Army, as well as a boys’ boarding school.
The two storey, 10 bedroomed detached property was converted into a hotel and restaurant in 1983 and although the ownership has changed, it has remained a hotel since then.
The accommodation incorporates a conservatory, coffee lounge/bar with further bar area, breakfast and dining rooms and a separate function room as well as 80 car parking spaces outside.
In addition to the 10 en-suite bedrooms, a single storey wing at the front offers three bedroom private/staff quarters.
The property is being marketed on a freehold basis for £795,000 by the specialists markets team at CBRE in Leeds who are joint agents with Westlake & Co on behalf of Punch Taverns.
Sam Frankland, director of CBRE’s specialists markets team, said: “This is a truly unique opportunity for interested parties to purchase a part of West Yorkshire’s history. The property, which is a popular wedding venue, is ready-made for a keen entrepreneur to develop the business and is certain to attract keen interest due to its charm and character.”
