Commercial Property Appointments: Group bucks trend and appoints four and more

A round-up of the region’s commercial property appointments.

THE Horbury Group, based in Rotherham, has made four new staff appointments.

The employees will join the sales and estimating teams across the firm.

Horbury Building Systems has welcomed two new members – Stuart Williams, from Sheffield, and Phil Garland, from Hull.

Mr Garland has taken over as manager of the sales and estimating team, after working in the construction industry for 18 years.

MWS Joinery, which became part of The Horbury Group in 2000, has appointed Will Lane, while Titan Ceilings has seen the addition of Dave Jackson, who worked at Ancon in Sheffield for over 20 years.

The Horbury Group, who has recently moved to a new development of state-of-the-art offices in Moorgate, is an established group of nine companies operating throughout the UK.

SAVILLS has appointed Iain Bath, MRTPI as a director within its growing planning team in Leeds

Mr Bath was previously regional head of planning with Knight Frank for 15 years where he earned a reputation for vision and professionalism.

He has been instrumental in bringing forward many of the landmark and mixed use schemes in Leeds including the outline and subsequent reserved matters approvals at Clarence Dock.

He has also been involved in the re-development proposals of the former Yorkshire Chemicals site in Hunslet over the past 3-4 years working alongside the design team to co-ordinate the planning requirements and timing of the scheme.

CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), has announced two key promotions at its Leeds office to service the North East and Yorkshire.

Stephen Raper, of Kirkby Fleetham, North Yorkshire has become a senior surveyor in the valuation team and Steven Taylor, of Bawtry, near Doncaster has been promoted to senior surveyor for the building consultancy division.

Both will be based at CBRE’s Kings Street offices in Leeds.

Joining CBRE in February 2007, Mr Raper’s role will be to continue with the provision of valuation advice to banks, property companies and other corporate clients, including several investment funds in the North East and Yorkshire.

He has over five years of commercial property experience throughout the northern region and will provide advice in respect of offices, retail and industrial premises.

Steven Taylor joined CB Richard Ellis in January 2007 as a surveyor in the building consultancy team.

In his role he will continue to work on a full range of building surveying duties, focusing on project-based instructions including commercial and industrial refurbishments and alterations.
