Horbury Group builds with funding

A YORKSHIRE-BASED construction group has secured £6.8m of funding as it continues to buck the national trend and expand its business operations.
Horbury Group, based in Rotherham, is on track to grow turnover to £54m and plans to use the funding to help it achieve its goal.
The group has just moved into its new 28,000 sq ft offices on South Grove, and has launched a new mechanical and electrical engineering business called Croft Electrical.
Horbury Group secured the funding from Bank of Scotland Corporate’s Sheffield team.
Horbury employs 80 full time staff with more than 800 sub contracted staff working on behalf of the company at any given time.
Leigh Churchill, financial director for Horbury Group, said: “The funding from Bank of Scotland Corporate will help us in achieving our goals for growth over the coming year. We have a considerable pipeline of work and with the new premises and launch of Croft Electrical we have plenty to be keeping us busy.”
Adam Barraclough, director at Bank of Scotland Corporate, said, “Horbury Group is an exciting business that through its constituent parts is delivering on some of the most exciting projects in the UK, such as the Beetham Tower, Britain’s tallest residential building, and the new law courts in Manchester. The group has a very robust business and we look forward to working with management for many years to come.”
Horbury Group played a leading role in the development of Beetham Tower – the landmark £150m Manchester development standing at a height of 171m.
