Digital media player Sweeps in to sponsor Royal Armouries

A DIGITAL media content company which operates YouTube channels dedicated to Sooty & Sweep and Skippy the kangaroo has announced a deal to become an official sponsor of the Royal Armouries.

One Media iP Group, which is based on Goldfinger Avenue at Pinewood Studios, floated on AIM last year and is a digital media content provider which consolidates, exploits and monetises intellectual property rights around music
and video.

It has become an official sponsor to the Royal Armouries, the UK’s national museum of arms and armour in Leeds.

One Media operates 16 YouTube channels which show content ranging from Sooty, Sweep and Soo episodes to Skippy the kangaroo as well as indie rock and Northern Soul music videos, underground breakdance videos and the Great British Channel as well as one titled Aliens & Conspiracies.

It specialises in buying the royalty rights to video content and then monetising it via the internet.

The company was recently named in Forbes magazine as being one of the top 10 IPOs (inital public offerings) on the AIM market last year that “have managed to at least double investors’ money”.

Michael Infante, chief executive officer and chairman of One Media, commented: “We are proud to be associated with this great British heritage institution and look forward to supporting them in their preservation of British military preservation work.

“It is also pleasing to see that One Media iP is being recognised for its growth and positive delivery of results for shareholders since listing in 2013.

“We see this as a good start to 2014 and look forward to keeping shareholders up to date with further developments for the company.”
