TALKS are at an advanced stage with a number of potential occupiers after contractors began work on a major new industrial and warehouse scheme in York.
Mulbrand has begun to clear earth at the York Business Park site in preparation for the construction of The Rose Centre.
The Rose Centre is being developed by Dream Developments, a York-based developer that has acquired the three-acre site from F&C REIT. The first phase of the development will see the construction of eight units, ranging in size from 1,225 sq ft to 3,060 sq ft.
The scheme is being marketed by GVA and Flanagan James Property Consultants offering the units for sale or to let.
Garry Barker, managing director of DREAM Developments, said: “Early interest in The Rose Centre has been really encouraging and the commencement of work at the site is great news for York. We have a number of parties interested in the units and are at an advanced stage with a couple of them.”

THE Bradford office of chartered surveyors Eddisons has completed a deal on the last remaining unit at the 606 Industrial Estate in Bradford.
The new tenant, Spray Contracts, has agreed terms on 5,000 sq ft, at an annual rent of £5.00 per sq ft. It means the site on Staithgate Lane, adjacent to the M606, is now fully occupied.
Eddisons acted on behalf of Marrtree Investments.
Golcar based Spray Contracts, which specialises in spraying and finishing of lacquers and paint finishes, has taken the space as part of its expansion plans.
Alex Wilkinson of Eddisons said: “The site provides modern warehouse and industrial premises and its strategic location close to the motorway network makes it popular with a range of tenants.
“The fact that the fully let signs are now up emphasises the strong demand for this type of quality accommodation across Bradford and the wider West Yorkshire region.”
