Property developer embarks on new hotel project

PROPERTY developer the Marshall Group has secured £10.6m of funding to assist with its new hotel project.

The company which is based in Elland, West Yorkshire has embarked on the development of the De Vere Hotel in Glasgow.

Located in Pacific Quay opposite the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, the 120-room hotel includes a restaurant, ale house, function suite, meeting rooms, leisure club and treatment rooms. 

Marshalls was founded in 1901 by Christopher Hemmingway Marshall and is one of the most successful family owned companies in the North of England. It has received the funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

Mark Qualter managing director, commercial and private, real estate finance North at RBS, said: “Marshalls has a long history of undertaking development projects that benefit communities through jobs creation and growth. The De Vere Hotel in Glasgow is an exciting project which will have a positive impact on the area. I am delighted to support Marshalls on this funding agreement and wish the business every success for the future.”
