Master Cutler Award recognises manufacturer’s fundraising efforts

IN the 2014 Master Cutler’s Challenge, Sheffield-based manufacturer Gripple received a special award in recognition of its fundraising efforts.

The Master Cutler Award was presented to the Gripple team, marking an end to this year’s Challenge, in which almost 90 business teams raised more than £100,000.

The Gripple fundraisers for the challenge raised almost £6,000 in aid of two local charities – Whirlow Hall Farm Trust and Sheffield Hospital Charity.

The Master Cutler, Tony Pedder, said: “The panel found it really hard to pick a winner for the Master Cutler’s Award from so many excellent teams. The final decision to award this to Gripple was based on the wide variety of events they undertook, the breadth of involvement within their company and the enthusiasm shown to make their contribution to the challenge really meaningful for the charities and at the same time enjoyable for the participants.”

Cheryl Ridge, fundraiser at Sheffield Hospital’s Charity, said: “We’re so thrilled to see Gripple win the Master Cutler’s Award which was very well deserved as they came up with so many wonderfully creative fundraising ideas.

“On behalf of both charities we’d like to thank everyone at Gripple and congratulate them all on their success. They put so much enthusiasm into their fundraising and showed amazing team spirit, well done everyone.”
